From the title, “Fatal Turn” gives the first impression that it may be a thrilling car chase story that takes place on the highway. For example, the kind of accident-prone sharp turns, preferably coupled with a variety of flying off a cliff fancy way to die …… but in fact, the series is about a group of young men and women to travel to the mountains to explore, get lost after encountering a freak cannibal, died one after another story.

This “out and about in danger” plot formula, in the United States small budget horror films, plasma films and homicidal movies, very common. However, “Wrong Turn” has its own unique characteristics – the protagonists will definitely drive down the wrong road, which is the original meaning of the English title “Wrong Turn”, taking a wrong turn. This first “meeting” with the cannibals scene, shot extremely well, tense, frightening to breathtaking. The cannibals entered the door and threw the body of the screaming woman directly in front of the hero and heroine hiding under the bed. Always wait until the three cannibals fall asleep, the protagonist group slowly get up to escape, but accidentally woke up the cannibals. After the plot, is the main group and cannibals in the mountains to start a round after round of desperate escape. They first ran to a “car graveyard” – cannibals scavenged all the cars of the victims and dumped them here. But soon, the cannibals drove after them.

The hero had a bright idea to make a diversionary plan, but succeeded in grabbing the cannibal’s car. But Scott was killed by an arrow, did not get into the car; the main man was also shot in the calf, wounded. Now, only three people remained to continue to escape. The car soon drove into a dead-end road, the three had to abandon the car and fled, into the endless forest.

Along the way, they encountered a variety of traps that almost wiped them out. By the time it was almost dark, the three came across a watchtower left by the loggers. After climbing up, at the top of the tower, the tired trio finally got a moment of peace. Here they also found the radio and contacted the police in the nearby town. But so high a tower, the cannibals must also know, they soon chased here, a fire lit the tower. Desperate protagonist group had to take advantage of the cover of the night, jumped to the trees. Cannibals did not stop there, followed by climbing the tree, and the protagonist group to a cat and mouse game like a jungle battle. With today’s eyes, “Wrong Turn” as an American-style murderous maniac movie, can only be considered moderate. Similar themes and routines, we have seen too much. But in 2003, the birth of “Wrong Turn”, or through the film’s disgusting horror of the monstrous cannibalism, to bring the audience a fresh feeling.
