A-Ton climbed the world’s tallest Burj Dubai and took a selfie to remember it? Jeremy Renner to take over the lead role from Atton? Is there a Pixar egg in the action movie? In this article, we reveal the secrets of Mission: Impossible 4.
1. Each film in the Mission: Impossible 4 series features a different Paramount logo in the opening credits, and Mission: Impossible 4 happens to be the first film to use Paramount’s 100th anniversary logo.
2. In the film, the thrilling scene of climbing the Burj Dubai was done by Tom Cruise himself. It was shot without the use of a stunt double, but with multiple dangling wafers, which were eliminated in post-production. The Burj Khalifa (Burj Dubai) is the tallest building in the world (828m) and Athony climbed at a height of around 518m during filming. At the end A-Ton even made it to the top of the tower in one go for a handsome photo.
3. For this scene, he spent a lot of time rehearsing and training. A huge glass wall was built and he spent months practising how to climb up and down as fast as possible, as well as building up his stamina for the climb.
4. Jeremy Renner plays Agent Brandt, a role originally designed as a replacement for Ethan Hunt. As Atun was once bored with playing this super agent, the producers designed a character to take over the role from Atun in order to make the sequel work.
The first three films in the series all featured the classic “balancing in the air” sequence, but in Mission: Impossible 4 it is no longer the hardened brother who does it, but the newcomer Jeremy Renner.
6. The long-haired man who hands Athony his black mask in the film is a henchman of Max, the black marketeer from the first Dishonored. The same black mask is worn by Ethan before he meets Max in Dishonored.
7. When Ethan obtains the mission in the phone booth, he enters the code number 07362, which is in fact the date of birth of Aton’s brother: 3 July 1962.
8. The hybrid concept car, the BMW Future Performance Power, is featured in the film, and was the prototype for the I8, BMW’s mass-produced plug-in hybrid sports car.
9. An “A113” ring appears in the film, as does the code word “A113” used by Athony to request an evacuation.
In fact, “A113” is the number of the animation classroom at CalArts, where many of Pixar’s biggest names took classes, including the film’s director Brad Bird.

10. This is the first live-action film from Oscar-winning director Brad Bird, who directed The Incredibles.
11. At the end of the second trailer for the film, a missile can be seen flying over San Francisco, which is actually heading towards Emeryville, home of Pixar’s headquarters.
